I have been a student of the human form, through the practice of Traditional Martial Arts, from the time I was twelve years of age. My old Chinese Seifu (Teacher) once told me at the ripe young age of 17; "Ben ...someday you will learn to heal the body". At the time I thought only of the martial arts and how to become better at it. Of course my Seifu was correct in his assessment of me. Wisdom will always trump youth. It just takes a bit of time.
The interesting thing about martial arts is that it teaches you, among other things, body manipulation. It also gives you a keen sense of how far you can take a persons joint's and soft tissues before you do harm. Through twenty plus years of Martial study, and more recently Massage Therapy, Meditation and Yoga, I have honed a very intuitive feel for working with the body.
Body Balancing Massage Therapy technique is a blending of Myofascial release, Deep Tissue massage, Energy Work (Tui Na, Shiatsu, etc.), and body manipulation (Stretching, pulling and pushing).
